Windows 7 mobile is meant to be targeted at business consumers, and as a direct competition to the blackberries. Document edits is a common tool in a business OS, and this is where Microsoft has gone bonkers. Ctrl C and Ctrl V are gone into oblivion! Yes, read my words again, there is no copy and paste functionality. I thought that there could be some misunderstanding or a lack of my functional knowledge, but Microsoft officials duly replied that the issue is known and it will take them another year to fix the flaw. What the heck will people do without it, nothing, if you don’t plan on using word processor and excel spreadsheet, Windows 7 is a gem.
Oh yes, I am coming to good part of it. Like its PC cousin, this Windows 7 is stylish, user friendly and a real social network. A unique combination of a business phone with social networking features is the latest treat, wait and watch to see your bosses live on their facebooks through their office provided business phones fitted with Windows 7 mobile.
Here’s my favorite part. The calendar feature has an option to key in the address along with the rest of the details. Let’s say you are heading to a meeting, and you need help with directions. Hit a key on the phone, and it will tell you exactly where you are and where you need to be – all through inbuilt GPS and satellite imagery. I am not done yet with the awesome calendar – suppose you are late to a meeting, a late option is available. Hit it and out goes apologies by SMS or email. I promise to use this feature on all my engagements.Despite lack of copy and paste, Windows 7 mobile bags 4 stars in my book. Can’t wait to get hold of it? Oh! By the way, Microsoft has been very particular on the resolution, screen size and memory requirements with its hardware providers, and HTC is one of the few mobile phone manufacturers who are coming out with Windows 7 later this month.
